Below are some examples of commissioned pieces to demonstrate how I work - from the initial briefing through to the final piece.

The Making of the Moores

A sculpture representing a whole family using different shaped units and landmarks of various countries. The final piece can be assembled in different ways, although I have indicated my preferred order.

I began this project with lots of Whatsapp conversations and drawings, getting to know the family and also letting them emerge as characters on paper. I wanted to ensure that I knew how the overall piece was going to work before I began the sculptural piece.

I documented my work and made it into a book as a keepsake for the family - here are images from the book which explain the project

So work began... quite a challenge representing the whole family in sculptural form. A lot of drawing, planning and Whatsapping ensued.

Small details such as the little bird, the pizza slices and the music were important to unify all the elements of the family in sculpture
