Everyday dreams

Atio Gallery is excited to present Zoë Rubens’ first solo exhibition in Cambridge since ***. This exhibition of prints and sculptures invites us to both question our perceptions of everyday life and dreams, and to laugh at ourselves and how we experience love and power in an age of political madness. The works offer statements on the politics of our time, asking how public narratives enter our private worlds and shape what we notice, believe and accept. They explore how the absurd interacts with the banal and how we imagine ourselves in these landscapes: when we question or resist them, when we turn away, and when we participate without recognising our involvement. Everyday dreams become a space in which familiar certainties can be unsettled and other possibilities imagined. This incredible collection of prints and sculptures invite us to look again at the world we inhabit and reflect on how our choices, attention and relationships shape our experience of it.
